Obituary for James Clarence Carey, Jr.

James Clarence “Junie” Carey, Jr. was born on February 7, 1961 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, son of James Clarence Carey, Sr. and the late Minnie Lee Christian Carey. He attended the Linden Public School system and graduated from Linden High School. James was a lifelong resident of Linden.

“Junie,” as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was employed as a Construction Worker at Selective Construction for 20 years where he found his passion in contracting and welding. James drew blueprints, measured, did masonry work and reconstruction of houses. He was the “Jack of All Trades.” Previously, James was a Welder at the Hammer Company in Linden.

James enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

On Friday, December 29, 2017, James Clarence Carey, Jr. departed this life at Alaris Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Rahway at the age of fifty-six.

James Clarence Carey, Jr. leaves to cherish precious memories, his fiancée, Jacqueline Barksdale; father, James Clarence Carey, Sr.; one brother, Willie Christian; two sisters: Michelle Carey and Tracey Carey all of Linden, New Jersey; one niece; four nephews; one great-nephew; one great-niece; special friend, Willie Grubbs; and a host of dear relatives and friends.
