Obituary for Edmond Thomas Mccloud, Jr.

Edmond Thomas Mccloud, Jr. was born on August 16, 1950 in Mount Vernon, Georgia, son of Edmond Thomas Mccloud, Sr. and the late Rosalena Phillips Mccloud. During his early childhood, “Thomas,” as he was called by his family, moved to Union County, New Jersey. Thomas was a graduate of Linden High School, class of 1967. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

“He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord” -Proverbs 18:22. In 1969, God showed Thomas the love of his life, the former Patricia Collins. Young and in love, Thomas and Patricia joined in holy matrimony in 1972 and with this union, they were blessed with three children: Derrick Thomas, Dyran Thomas and Damirra Tralena.

Thomas was employed as a Maintenance Technician for Cranford Board of Education before retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Thomas never failed at being a constant provider, loving husband, supportive father and a strong believer in God. His happiness in life were simple: his wife and children. When Thomas became "Pop Pop" in 2003, the entire world knew how proud he was. Although Thomas was a faithful, devoted family man, there was only one other love in his life, James Brown's music. Thomas found his joy when "Get on the good foot" pounded the speakers after a long day. His unconditional love for family kept Thomas motivated by good music and the Lord throughout his ten-year battle with various health issues.

On Saturday, July 21, 2018, Edmond Thomas Mccloud's battle became the Lord's and was called home to be restored.

He was predeceased by his first-born son, Derrick Thomas Mccloud; granddaughter, Kamirra Mccloud; brother, Jerry Mccloud; brother-in-law, Charles Collins; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Collins.
