Obituary for Quincy Elroy Brunson

Quincy Elroy Brunson was born on January 17, 1964 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Mary (Bullock) Brunson and Edward Brunson. He departed this life on January 18, 2018.

Quincy began his early education at School #2 in Linden, New Jersey. A longtime resident of Rahway, Quincy graduated from Rahway High School in 1982, where he studied and excelled in Mechanical Drawing. From a young boy, Quincy was always mechanically inclined. He was a Self-Taught Auto Mechanic. Whether it was a bike, a car, a Boiler, home repairs, or a Roof, Quincy could fix it all. He was a “Master” in whatever craft he chose to do. Some of his hobbies included Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Ice Skating and riding Motorcycles. Shortly after graduating from High School, Quincy was employed at American Cyanamid in Linden, New Jersey. He also worked for CPO in Rahway, New Jersey and Middlesex Armature in Colonia, New Jersey for many years where he was a Master Mechanic. Recently, Quincy was employed at Premier Roofing in Elizabeth, New Jersey where he was a highly skilled Roofer.
Quincy was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Bullock) Brunson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Edward Brunson of Waldorf, Maryland; one daughter, Claudia Brunson Peterson (Ted); six brothers: Ilyas Nashid (Layteefa) of Cincinnati, OH, Marvin Brunson (Lisa) of Orlando, FL, Christopher Brunson of NC, Charles Brunson of NY, Michael Brunson (Terry) of Aberdeen, NJ and Antwan Brunson of Rahway, NJ; five sisters: Barbara Willis (Paul) of Linden, NJ, Debbie Stapleton (Lamont) of Rahway, NJ, Marsha Taulton (Paul) of Houston, TX, Sherron Ogunsola (Olu) of Powder Springs, GA and Makesha Clark (Christopher) of Waldorf, MD; twenty-seven nieces and nephews; his faithful companion, (Pit-bull) “Hutch” that he affectionately called “His Son”, and a host of many relatives and friends.

Quincy had a major impact on everyone he met. All clearly noticed his wit, humor, and strength. Quincy “Loved” his Family deeply and always put them first whenever they needed him. He was “On-Call” all the time. He ALWAYS went out of his way to help others…. even until the very end, he did just that! He will truly be missed.
