Obituary for Gwendolyn Fullman Clark

Gwendolyn Fullman Clark was born on August 6, 1946 to the union of the late Joseph Lee Fullman, Sr. and Anna Lou (James) Fullman in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She departed this life peacefully at home on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Gwen was preceded in death by her siblings: Marion Fullman, William Fullman and Reverlee Wilson.

Gwen was a graduate of the Elizabeth Public School system. Noting the importance of education, she completed some college level coursework.

Gwen married the love of her life, Richard “Nick” Clark on January 28, 1967 and they were blessed with 51 years of marriage.

Gwen had a very successful career at Schering-Plough Corporation of Kenilworth, New Jersey, where she was promoted to manager of its legal department. She was known for her professionalism, integrity, superior analytical and accounting skills.

After a distinguished 40-year career, Gwen decided it was time to retire and enjoy her family. For the next fourteen years, she enjoyed being with them, living and loving. Gwen was purely and simply the epitome of love.

At an early age, Gwen accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal Savior and attended Liberty Baptist Church. She was a founding member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church’s Hostess Club and served as its first President. She always sought to deepen her relationship, walk with Christ and was a studier of the bible. A true servant, Gwen was generous to a fault, always lending a hand and acting in the service of others. She never sought praise or acknowledgement; she just wanted to make people’s lives better.

Gwen could always be counted upon for a warm smile, bear hug and the best cup of tea in the world. She was an excellent cook, known for her pineapple coconut cake. She had impeccable style and was a phenomenal woman loved by all who were blessed to have been acquainted with her.

Gwen leaves to cherish precious memories, her beloved husband, Richard “Nick” Clark; two daughters: Nichelle Nicole Clark and Natischa Kerri Clark; one son, Kevin Maurice Clark (Barbara); one sister, Cynthia Bowers; two brothers: Joseph Fullman, Jr. (Cathy) and Rico Fullman (Carol); seven grandchildren: Nichelle Lane (Darrell), Nastassia Lane, Nailah Clark Chrystal Clark, Shantel Clark, Maximillian Lee and Kevin Clark; three great-grandchildren: Noah Lane, Zakari Robinson and Na’vell Clark; three godchildren: Troy Fullman, Adhari Fullman and Tierra Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
